Hello Pet Parents!

We hope that you enjoyed your summer! And that the farmers among us are having a safe harvest!

Waggin Wheelz will be doing F.A.R.M. Cat Day on Thursday October 6th!

What does F.A.R.M. stand for?     Feral Animal Reduction Movement

This program is designed to reduce feral populations of cats in our area, therefore, it is NOT for pets.

It is a cost- effective opportunity for people to help an ongoing problem with overpopulation.

How do you know if your cat/cats qualify?

Criteria for any feline participating in the F.A.R.M. program:

  • Must be from an area with feline overpopulation issue
  • Must not be a household pet

(You must sign a legal waiver stating the animal is not a pet)

  • At least 6 months of age
  • Not nursing kittens
  • In good physical condition
  • A $20 pregnancy surcharge will apply in certain circumstances

Booking for F.A.R.M. Cat Day will begin Friday September 23th

Neuters will be $50 and spays will be $85.

We would suggest you do not delay, there is limited space and this list fills up very fast!

Priority will be given to clients that have not taken advantage of F.A.R.M. Cat Day in the past.

A $50 non-refundable deposit will be needed for each cat in the program.

We are very proud to be part of this program, as spay/neuter is the solution to overpopulation, and we want to be part of the solution, as we know you do too!

We would also like to remind everyone that the F.A.R.M. Cat Program is not meant to take the place of routine spay and neuters. We encourage everyone to spay and neuter their outdoor/barn cats year-round.

October is RVT Month across Canada!

Registered Veterinary Technicians are essential team members when it comes to your pets' health, playing many different roles in the clinic.

We’d like to tell you why Jen is our favorite RVT. :) Jen is extremely knowledgeable, explains difficult topics in a way that is clearly understood, and loves our patients. She advocates for them, and does everything she can to help patients feel comfortable while they are here with us. Natasha and Jodelle are stellar because of Jen’s training so credit goes to Jen for the team that exists here. Not to mention, she can find a vein for a blood sample like nobody’s business! Don’t worry, we tell her she’s appreciated a lot, but October is her month!

So when you see Jen, please feel free to tell her you appreciate her too!

Also, can’t wait to have Kaitlyn back from her maternity leave soon!!

She has been greatly missed!

It’ll be good to have the team back together again. She was hoping to come back to the new clinic, but it looks like she’s going to lose that bet!

The clinic is progressing well though, it’s going to be such a valuable asset to our community! Hope to be able to announce the move in the near future :)

In conclusion:

Three dogs, five kids and a cat were under an umbrella. Why did nobody get wet?

Because it wasn’t raining.

The jokes are getting better aren’t they?

No?

Want to know if your husband or your dog loves you more?

Just lock them both in a crate for a few hours and see which one is happy to see you once you open it!

Goodbye for now from the team at WWVS!
